Industry validates the design and implementation of a Capital Markets Master Plan
In order to facilitate the deepening and development of the capital markets, representatives of the capital markets’ industry have today taken the first step in the conceptualization, design, and implementation of a Capital Markets Master Plan for the coming five-year period, that is commonly owned by the capital markets industry.
Speaking during a stakeholder forum for capital market industry players at the Hilton Hotel in Nairobi, the CMA Chief Executive, Mrs Stella Kilonzo, acknowledged the unanimous support for the identification of a Steering Committee, drawn from across all stakeholders, to onceptualize and implement the Capital Markets Master Plan. The forum included; CMA Board members led by the Chairman, Mr Kung’u Gatabaki, and representatives from the Council of the Kenya Association of Stockbrokers and Investment Banks (KASIB), the Nairobi Securities Exchange, Central Depository and Settlement Corporation, investment banks, stockbrokers, fund managers, investment advisers, and collective investment schemes.
Success is not measured by the size of the estate one commands, neither is it judged on the size of one’s bank account, rather by the satisfaction by the giver and recipient of a service. Nothing illustrates this better than the tremendous growth achieved by Air Mauritius which despite the economic and geographical size of the Indian Ocean Island, has grown to beat some of Africa’s known economic giants to become the 4th largest Airline in Sub Saharan Africa in terms of efficiency and fleet.

Demand for housing has been seen to be on the rise in recent years in tandem with population and companies have responded by introducing housing projects on locations away from the hustle and bustle of the city. One recent housing project to be unveiled was the Iluluwe Gated Community Housing Project situated in Athi River.
